Providing resources and vision in collaboration with community leaders to address the needs of families in Stone and Taney Counties.

Since 2014, Great Circle has received an annual grant award from the Children’s Trust Fund of Missouri for a community-based child abuse prevention program (CBCAP) serving Stone and Taney Counties.  Growing Healthy Families (GHF) is the most comprehensive, collaboration project of Healthy Families Taskforce (HFT).  HFT’s network of providers, board members, and community partners collaborate to fulfill the mission and vision of this program.  GHF is a collaborative, community-based initiative that engages individuals, families, and communities by leveraging resources and community participation to strengthen families and foster positive, safe environments for children.  Public and private agencies, businesses, faith-based organizations, schools, and other entities refer families to the program and provide services, collaboratively, to help reduce significant stressors that are major contributors to child abuse and neglect.  The program is family-centered and prevention-focused utilizing a strength-based approach to assess and serve families

Since 2012, HFT has hosted "Pinwheels for Prevention" fairs to celebrate families and bring local awareness about child abuse prevention to Stone and Taney Counties.  These fairs coincide with the state and national prevention campaigns, during the month of April. HFT members and community partners, committed to the well-being of children and preventing child abuse, provide information and services to connect families to their communities. Informational booths, food, games, and educational workshops are available for families to enjoy. The fairs focus on child safety, nutrition, community involvement, child/family growth and development as families spend time learning, playing, and growing together. The Children’s Trust Fund of Missouri provides grant funding to HFT to assist with some of the costs for the fairs, in both counties. Learn more about our local fair.

VITA is a free tax assistance program that economically impacts families in Stone and Taney Counties.  Trained volunteers prepare taxes, at no cost, for families with low to moderate income.  The University of Missouri Extension coordinates the program with collaborative funding efforts by HFT (through the Children’s Trust Fund of Missouri), Operation Roundup, Stone and Taney County Commission. VITA provides an immense financial relief for these families, thus reducing stress levels and the incidences of child abuse and neglect.
